Box Score ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis freshman Mallory Dillon tallied a match-high 21 kills on 34 attacks with four errors (.500 attack percentage) as the Billikens fell to George Washington, 3-0. SLU falls to 12-16 overall and 8-5 in Atlantic 10 play. The Bills are now locked in to the four seed in next weekend's A-10 Championship.
Saint Louis setter Meredith Boe also had a good day, recording a match-high 29 kills. Boe also had a team-best three aces in the contest.
The Billikens struggled in the first set, with GW grabbing a 6-0 run to start the match. SLU was never able to catch up as the Colonials won the opening set 25-19. Dillon recorded seven of the Billikens' 13 kills in the first.
In the second, George Washington continued to pressure the Billiken defense as GW went on to win 17-25. Dillon again paced the SLU attack with eight of the Bills' 10 kills.
Saint Louis put together an early five-point run in the third set, jumping out to a 9-4 lead. However, George Washington managed to tie the game at 20-20 and went on to capture a 22-25 win in the deciding set. Dillon had six kills on 10 attacks without an error (.600 hitting percentage) in the final set.
The Billikens will wrap up the 2013 regular season on Sun. Nov. 17 when they take on George Mason at Chaifetz Pavilion. First serve is set for 1 p.m. Prior to the start of the match, Saint Louis will hold a Senior Day celebration in honor of the program's seniors. Senior Day activities will begin at 12:55 p.m.
