Box Score ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis baseball dropped the rubber match of the Memphis series, 5-2. The teams were only able to play seven innings before officials halted the game due to rain. Connor Lehmann (0-1) was hit with the loss. The Billikens fall to 4-6 on the year.
Memphis opened the scoring in the second with a run in the bottom of the inning.
In the third, junior Braxton Martinez laced a shot to right field, scoring two and giving SLU the lead. Memphis, however, responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame to tie the game at 2-2.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the fifth when the Tigers scored twice. They added another run in the sixth to bring the final tally to 5-2.
Junior Jake Henson had a single in the second inning, extending his hit streak to 10 games and his on-base streak to 17 games. He finished the day 2-3.
Junior Josh Bunselmeyer also had a good day at the plate, going 2-3 with a steal.
Next up for the Billikens is a midweek showdown with Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday, March 4. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
