Box Score ST. LOUIS - Junior catcher Jake Henson ripped two home runs against Southeast Missouri State, but the Billikens fell to the Redhawks, 7-9. Robert Plohr (1-3) was hit with the loss as the Billikens fall to 8-7 overall.
Henson was 2-4 in the game with a pair of round trippers, two runs and three RBIs. He is the first Billiken to hit two homers in a game since teammate Braxton Martinez recorded the feat on March 8 of last year.
The Billikens scored first with a run in the bottom of the second on Henson's first HR of the day.
The Redhawks responded with a seven-run third inning. It is the most runs SLU has allowed in an inning this season.
The Billikens whittled away at the SEMO lead for the next few innings. Henson hit his second bomb of the day in the fourth, a two-run shot. Josh Bunselmeyer ripped a solo shot in the next at-bat to cut the SLU deficit to 7-4.
In the fifth, Mike Vigliarolo poked an RBI single through the right side, scoring Danny Murphy.
Saint Louis tied the game in the sixth. James Morisano hit a grounder to first, but was able to drive Bunselmeyer in from third. Alex King was the next batter and hit an RBI single up the middle, tying the game at 7.
The Redhawks scored the final two runs in the eighth, winning the game 9-7.
The Billikens return to action tomorrow, March 11 when they host Eastern Illinois at the Billiken Sports Center. Freshman RHP Connor Lehmann is set to start against the Panthers. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
