EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Haley Chambers tossed a one-hitter to lead SIUE past Saint Louis 5-0 Wednesday afternoon at Cougar Field.

Allie Macfarlane's two-out double in the fourth inning was the only hit for the Billikens, who slipped to 25-15. SIUE improved to 33-9.

The Cougars scored two runs in the first inning, one in the third and two in the fourth.

Reliever Laney Kneib pitched a strong final two innings for Saint Louis, allowing just two hits and striking out two.

The Billikens host La Salle in a key Atlantic 10 Conference series this weekend. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game are slated for a noon first pitch.
