ST. LOUIS - Senior pitcher Clay Smith rose to 7-0 with a 6-0 win over Massachusetts Friday night. The win moves him to 11th at Saint Louis for single season pitcher victories. Only Bryant Cotton (9) has won more games in his senior season. The Billikens rise to 25-12 overall and 7-3 in conference games. 

Smith hurled seven shutout innings, scattering five hits with no walks and three strikeouts. He has thrown 13 consecutive innings without allowing a run. Smith has 23 career wins, giving him sole possession of second on SLU's all-time wins list. 

Saint Louis jumped on the board in the first on a sacrifice fly to right by Josh Bunselmeyer. SLU led 1-0 through one inning.

Both teams traded zeros for the next four innings. In the sixth, Saint Louis tallied five more runs. Danny Murphy hit his first home run of the season, a three-run shot to right field. Colton Frabasilio followed with a two-run double, his 15th of the season, tying him for 15th on SLU's single season list. 

Saint Louis and UMass will complete the series tomorrow for a double header at the Billiken Sports Center. Game one will begin at 1 p.m. with Josh Moore on the mound. Game two will begin approximately 30 min after with Zach Girrens getting the start.
