OVERVIEW
Billikens volleyball fell to visiting Arkansas State in four sets in their first match of the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic. Danielle Rygelski led all hitters with 19 kills, but fell short of a double-double with nine digs. She also added three service aces and four blocks.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
- Rygelski led the Bills in the opening frame with five kills, but SLU fell 25-22.
- In the second set, Rygelski added four kills on eight swings while Lauren Leverenz had two kills on three attempts, leading SLU to a 25-15 set win.
- The Billikens held Arkansas State to a -.160 attack percentage in set two.
- Out of the break, Rygelski tallied seven kills and Mackenzie Long had seven digs, but the Red Wolves hit .344 to take set three 25-15.
- In the last set, Taylor Paulson notched four kills on six attacks as SLU fell 25-23.
- In the match, Leverenz had six kills and two errors in 11 attacks for a .364 attack percentage.
- Long led with 19 digs in the contest.
