THE BASICS
• Saint Louis turned in a dominant all-around performance in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-17) Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Davidson Friday night at Belk Arena.
• The Billikens (5-17, 4-6 A-10) registered a .309 attack percentage (42-12-97) while limiting Davidson (12-9, 5-5 A-10) to .032 with just 20 kills.
• SLU out-blocked Davidson 8-2 and posted a season-high 10 service aces. The Billikens never trailed in any of the three sets.
FIRST SET
A 7-0 run gave Saint Louis an 11-2 lead. Davidson narrowed the margin to 17-12 before the Billikens regained command with three consecutive points.
SECOND SET
The Billikens burst out of the gate with five consecutive points and were in control throughout the set. The Wildcats were still clinging to hope with a 20-15 deficit, but SLU rattled off four straight and five of the next six points to take a 2-0 match lead.
THIRD SET
After falling behind 9-3, Davidson rallied and trailed just 16-13. SLU countered with a 5-0 spurt for a 21-13 cushion, then answered a 4-0 Wildcats run with one of its own to finish the set and the match.
NOTABLE
• Maya Taylor tallied a match-high 15 kills, hit .300 (15-6-30) and tied for match-high honors with three service aces.
• Sara Daniels turned in a .471 attack percentage (10-2-17), led all players with four blocks and recorded a career-high four digs. Daniels' 10 kills are her career high in a three-set match.
• Cayce Chaykowski recorded a match-high 13 digs.
• Kennedy Cordia collected her 10th double-double of the season (eighth in A-10 matches) with 29 assists and 10 digs.
• Isabelle Walsh had a .316 attack percentage (7-1-19).
• Sien Gallop and Katia Haak registered nine and six digs, respectively.
• Juliana Phillips notched a career-high three service aces.
• Lauren Mershon posted three blocks.
