Box Score SAINT LOUIS - [BOX SCORE] Saint Louis University Baseball struggled to post runs against a talented Jacksonville on Sunday as the Billikens fell 3-1 at the Billiken Sports Center.
Saint Louis (25-14, 11-1 A-10) posted one run on the day as they were held to seven runs over the course of the series with Jacksonville.
The Billikens picked-up their lone tally in the fourth inning to tie the game. Both Aaron Case and Alex King singled to lead-off the inning. A pair of strikeouts put the home team in danger of stranding a pair of runners, but Nick Reeser delivered the first and only run of the day. The first baseman singled to left field on a 1-0 count and tied the game at one.
Spencer Stockton got the start on Sunday for the Dolphins and impressed from start to finish. The right-handed pitcher racked-up 10 strikeouts in his eight-inning performance to earn his fifth win of the year.
Jacksonville regained the lead in the top of the fifth with an RBI single from Sam Armstrong and extended the lead with an insurance run in the seventh to secure the sweep.
Drew Reveno suffered the loss on Sunday after allowing two runs on five hits in four and two-thirds innings pitched. Luke Sommerfeld took things from there. The big right-handed pitcher went four and a third and allowed just one run on five hits with three strikeouts to his credit.
Saint Louis will head back out on the road on Tuesday when they face Eastern Illinois University. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Charleston, Ill.
