Billikens Leave Alabama with 2-2 Record

The Billikens fell to Miami (OH) 9-7 in the series finale on Sunday. They left Hoover, Ala., with a 2-2 record, taking a victory on Friday and splitting the doubleheader on Saturday.

Shane Benes drove in his fourth RBI on the weekend when he doubled home two Billikens in the sixth inning.

Saint Louis sparked a ninth inning rally, starting with a Cam Redding two-RBI double, cutting the Redhawks lead to 9-4. Zach Frieling then hit an RBI single, brining the Billikens within four.

Two wild pitches brought in another pair of runs, but Miami (OH) was able to close out the inning with a final score of 9-7.

Corrigan Bartlett led the Billikens with a .308 average in the series, adding three runs scored and three RBIs. He also nabbed one stolen base on the weekend.

Ben Livorsi hit for a .300 average, adding four walks, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Redding was successful in both of his pinch hit attempts on the weekend, going 2-2, driving in three runs and scoring one.

The Billikens begin a three-game series at Loyola Marymount on Feb. 22.
