Billikens Take Tough Loss to Loyola Marymount

Saint Louis fell to Loyola Marymount 3-1 Friday night, in game one of the three-game series.

The Billikens out hit the Lions, but they were unable to capitalize, stranding seven runners on the bases.

After allowing two first inning runs, Cody Luther shut down his opponent, and he turned in his second consecutive solid outing for the team. Luther pitched 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and added eight strikeouts.

Jake Garella drove in the lone run for the Billikens, doing so with his fifth double in as many games and second on the night in the eighth inning. He finished 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI.

Cole Dubet had his second multi-hit game of the season, going 2-4 with two singles.

The Billikens and Lions return to action for game two tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. in Los Angeles, Calif. The pitching matchup is set to be Jackson Wark and Josh Agnew.
