Saint Louis defeated Chicago State 7-3 Friday afternoon at Billiken Sport Center.

Starting pitcher Connor Lehmann helped the team get back in the win column, throwing 6.0 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and striking out a season-high 10 Cougar batters. He beat his nine punch out mark from February 24 against Loyola Marymount.

Jackson Wark entered the game in relief of Ryan Patel with runners on and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. He closed out the game by throwing 2.0 innings, giving up no hits and striking out two.

Shortstop Kevin Jordan went 2-3 on the afternoon, including one run scored and one walk.

Cam Redding drove in two runs and scored one.

Shane Benes, Jake Garella and Ben Livorsi all chipped in an RBI each.

The Billikens and Cougars are back at it for game two Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
