Box Score Despite smacking a season-high 19 hits, Saint Louis dropped their series opener 6-5 in 12 innings at Davidson on Friday night.
The Wildcats took an early 4-0 lead in the second inning, but the Bills rallied back scoring two in the third, one in the fourth and two in the seventh. Davidson tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, and then they walked it off in inning number 12.
Jake Garella and Corrigan Bartlett both led the way with their individual season-high four hits. Garella went 4-7 with one RBI and two runs scored. Bartlett finished 4-6 with one run scored.
Three Billikens had three hits on the night: Cole Dubet (3-6, 2B), Ben Livorsi (3-5, BB) and Braxton Stowe (3-6, RBI, R, 2B).
Jack Spicer entered the game in relief of Connor Lehmann in the bottom of the second inning. He threw 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out three.
Collin Townsend faced three batters, striking out all of them.
Ryan Lefner pitched the final 4.1 innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out five.
The Billikens will turn to Cody Luther to even the series on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
