COLUMBIA, Mo. – Saint Louis swimming and diving finished third in the women's competition and fifth in the men's meet at Friday's Show-Me Showdown hosted by the University of Missouri.
Kierra Perez turned in the best finish for the Billikens, placing fourth in the women's 500 free (5:15.04).
Natalie Daniel produced top-10 performances in the 200 IM (fifth, 2:13.56) and 100 free (10th, 53.45).
Also contributing top-10 efforts for the women's team were
Sophie Kishish, fifth in the 500 free (5:15.09);
Emily Leonard, fifth in the 200 free (1:55.48);
Emily Schroeder, sixth in the 200 IM (2:13.57);
Carly McKeon, seventh in the 500 free (5:17.27);
Bri Hodgkins, ninth in the 100 fly (58.89); and
Lauren Payton, 10th in the 200 free (2:00.02).
Two women's relay squads finished fourth. The 200 free team of
Ella Bolling,
Amelia Carlson,
Madi Baylor and
Pola Luckiewicz clocked a time of 1:40.45, while the 400 free quartet of Daniel, Leonard, Payton and Kishish swam the route in 3:37.00.
Janssen Gamilla led the Billiken men with a sixth-place finish in the 100 back (50.79) and seventh-place performance in the 100 fly (50.44).
Preston Waldusky was ninth in the 200 IM (1:58.13), and
Nick Soltys placed ninth in the 50 free (21.45).
The Billikens compete vs. McKendree and Truman State Friday, Oct. 22, in Lebanon, Illinois.
