Women’s Basketball Inks Four to NLIs

Saint Louis head women's basketball coach Lisa Stone has announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to attend the University and play for the Billikens beginning next fall.

The new Billikens are 5-foot-11 guard Ashleigh Connor (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon H.S.), 5-foot-9 guard Mackenzie Hare (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North H.S.), 5-foot-11 guard/forward Abby Liber (Avon, Ohio/Avon H.S.) and 6-foot-2 guard/forward Mia Nicastro (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West H.S.).

"I'm super excited about our incoming 2022 class," Stone said. "They are great players and even greater people. This class brings talent, high basketball IQ and a championship mentality. I can't wait to see them in Billiken blue."


Ashleigh Connor • G • 5-11 • Pittsburgh, Pa. • Mount Lebanon H.S.

Has scored over 1,200 points in her career … has connected on 115 treys on a .400 shooting percentage … shoots 78 percent from the charity stripe … averages 4.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds … two-time All-State team selection … ranked in the top 25 for the state of Pennsylvania … has reached the semifinals of the state tournament in each of her three seasons.

Stone on Connor: "Ashley is a combo guard who displays great toughness on offense and defense. She can handle the ball, shoot from deep range and play with a great pace. Ashleigh will be a great addition to our guard court. We are very excited to welcome her and her family to the Billikens."


Mackenzie Hare • G • 5-9 • Naperville, Ill. • Naperville North H.S.

A two-time unanimous conference player of the year … three-time member of the All-Conference first team and All-Area first team … has been named to the IBCA All-State first team and third team … named to the News Gazette All-State first team … named the Daily Herald Player of the Year … tied for 10th in Illinois history with 119 made three-pointers in a season … ranked 16th all-time in Illinois with 288 career three-pointers … has scored 1,822 points in her career … averaged 30.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals as a junior.

Stone on Hare: "Mackenzie might be one of the finest guards in the Midwest who can score in multiple capacities. She can shoot the deep ball, drive to a pull and get to the basket in creative ways. Mackenzie will make an immediate impact in our program. We are happy to have her and her family join our Billiken family."


Abby Liber • G/F • 5-11 • Avon, Ohio • Avon H.S.

A Southwestern Conference MVP … two-time All-Conference first team selection … All-Lorain County Player of the Year and two-time first team member … Northeast Lakes All-District first team honoree as a junior and third team as a sophomore … averaged 14.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks as a junior … Southwestern Conference and Lorain County honorable mention as a freshman.

Stone on Liber: "Abby is a combo guard/small forward who will assist our defense and rebounding with her great size. She can score the ball and defend very well, and she will give us additional depth in our guard court. We welcome Abby and her family to our Billiken family."


Mia Nicastro • G/F • 6-2 • St. Charles, Mo. • St. Charles West H.S.

A two-time Gateway Athletic Conference North champion … two-time Gateway Athletic Conference North Player of the Year … member of the 1,000-point club … averaged 21.2 points and 8.9 rebounds as a junior … also earned four letters in volleyball at St. Charles West H.S.

Stone on Nicastro: "Mia brings a great ability to score inside and out. She will play the stretch four for us. Mia has a great basketball IQ and can defend all positions on the floor. We are thrilled to have Mia joining the team and welcome her and her family to the Billiken family."
