EVANSVILLE, IND. –
Janssen Gamilla and
Emily Leonard won two events each to lead the Saint Louis swimming and diving teams in competition vs. Evansville and Little Rock Saturday afternoon.
The SLU men fell to Evansville 154-135, while the Billiken women were defeated by Little Rock 152-140 and by Evansville 172-128.
Gamilla captured the 100 fly (50.44) and 200 fly (1:54.80).
Ethan Hoak in the 200 back (1:59.59) and
Harrison Misemer in 1-meter diving (159.15) also were victorious for the men's team.
Leonard touched first in the 500 free (5:09.67) and 1000 free (10:34.17) and was joined on the winner's podium by
Carly McKeon, who took top honors in the 200 free (1:56.03).
The Billikens claimed 10 runner-up finishes, six by the men and four by the women.
Jack Locke led that group, finishing second in the 500 free (4:51.68) and 1000 free (10:01.52).
Additional men's second-place finishers were
Garrett Munk in the 100 back (54.30),
Ethan Highley in the 50 free (21.85),
Nick Soltys in the 100 free (48.74) and
Brandt Wilhelmi in the 200 back (1:59.89).
Natalie Daniel in the 200 free (1:56.20),
Bri Hodgkins in the 200 fly (2:09.43),
Meggie McPherson in the 200 back (2:08.46) and
Maggie Coffey in 1-meter diving (182.85) were runners-up for the women's team.
