FISHERS, Ind. – Saint Louis swimming and diving defeated Butler and Valparaiso in the women's competition and Valparaiso in the men's competition Sunday at the Butler Double Dual Meet.
Lauren Payton,
Emily Leonard and
Janssen Gamilla won individual events. Payton finished first in the women's 200 fly (2:10.17), Leonard captured the women's 500 free (5:09.22), and Gamilla won the men's 200 fly (1:53.40).
Payton turned in two additional top-five performances, placing third in the 500 free (5:18.60) and 1000 free (10:59.51). Leonard was second in the 1000 free (10:35.51), while Gamilla finished third in the 50 free (21.58).
Five other Billikens registered top-five finishes in two events. For the men,
Nick Soltys was fourth in the 50 free (21.60) and 100 free (47.76), and
Franklin Liu placed fourth in the 500 free (4:51.26) and fifth in the 1000 free (10:10.41). On the women's team,
Carly McKeon finished fourth in the 100 free (54.76) and fifth in the 200 free (1:57.72),
Kierra Perez was fourth in the 500 free (5:19.36) and fifth in the 400 IM (4:45.00), and
Pola Luckiewicz placed fifth in the 50 free (25.16) and 100 free (54.82).
