LINCOLN, Neb. – Saint Louis competed in its first meet of 2022 this past weekend at the Graduate Classic at the University of Nebraska.

Several Billikens posted strong performances on the weekend.
Myles Gascon, who matched his own school record in the 60 meters in SLU's last meet, broke the record with a mark of 6.93, which he met in the prelims and the finals. He ended up finishing fourth overall.

On the women's side,
Mikayla McDowell and
Emily Nichols placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 meters. McDowell finished in 26.21, while Nichols turned in a time of 26.35.

SLU turned in the top three marks in the women's 5,000 meters –Â
Megan Kress (1
st, 17:18.84),
Carly Sear (2
nd, 18:09.17) and
Ashleigh Niklaus (3
rd, 19:22.43).

In the men's 200 meters,
Danny Hopkins was third with a time of 22.46, while Gascon finished fourth with a time of 22.52. Hopkins also placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 49.12.

Patrick Donovan was second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:00.85.
Jayden Kouadio turned in a third-place mark in the triple jump (46-0).

The men's DMR of
Harrison Martinenko,
Malik Stewart,
Leo Burns and
Ethan Rice turned in a first-place finish of 10:29.71.

The Billikens resume the indoor season next weekend at the Gladstein Invitational at Indiana University.
