Full Schedule

ST. LOUIS – A challenging schedule is in store for the 2022 Saint Louis University softball team. The Billikens will face six teams that qualified for the NCAA Championship and finished among the top 50 in the NCAA Ratings Percentage Index in 2021, as well as three additional opponents that placed among the top 100 in the RPI.

"We are excited for the upcoming spring season and a more traditional feel to our schedule," head coach Christy Connoyer said. "Preseason tournaments prepare us for a full Atlantic 10 Conference schedule not only on the field, but also off the field with travel and team-building opportunities.

"With a veteran squad as well as a large freshman class, we have a balanced team that is not only experienced, but also full of energy and excitement for a new season," Connoyer said. "We are preparing at a high level every day. Each week, we look to build even more experience and strong momentum that we can carry throughout the season. We talk constantly about playing for each other, and we can't wait to take the field as one Billiken team here soon."

Saint Louis opens the season Friday, Feb. 11, at Southern Mississippi's Black & Gold Invitational, the first of three tournaments in which the Billikens will compete. SLU also participates in Central Arkansas' (No. 80 in the final 2021 RPI) Michelle Short Memorial Classic and the Ole Miss Classic on the last weekend in February and first weekend in March, respectively. The Billikens take on 2021 NCAA teams Ole Miss (No. 26 RPI) and Western Kentucky (No. 45 RPI) in the latter event.

Twenty-one games are on the Billiken Sports Center docket, beginning with the home opener vs. Northern Kentucky March 8. The 12-game A-10 home schedule features three-game series vs. Massachusetts (March 26-27), Rhode Island (April 2-3), Dayton (April 15-16) and George Mason (May 7-8).

An April 18 game vs. Sun Belt Conference champion and NCAA regional finalist Louisiana (No. 24 RPI) highlights the non-conference home slate. Iowa (No. 99 RPI) comes to town March 16, while area rival SIUE visits April 13.

Among the Billikens' road opponents are conference rivals George Washington (A-10 champion, NCAA qualifier, No. 37 RPI), perennial power Fordham, and Saint Joseph's, which captured the 2021 A-10 North Division title in a COVID-altered league schedule; NCAA participants Missouri (No. 12 RPI, NCAA regional champion) and Southern Illinois (No. 48 RPI); and Missouri State (No. 92 RPI).

The six-team, double-elimination A-10 Championship will be hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Va., May 11-14.
