GENEVA, Ohio – A fifth-place finish in the men's 200 medley relay and two school records highlighted the first day of competition for Saint Louis at the 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.

Janssen Gamilla and
Ethan Highley clocked a time of 1:30.06 in the 200 medley relay. Gamilla's 50 fly split of 20.86 tied Ryan McCoy's Billiken record.
The women's 800 free relay team of
Natalie Daniel,
Carly McKeon,
Sophie Kishish and
Emily Leonard finished seventh in 7:27.04. Daniel swam the leadoff leg in a school-record 1:50.14, eclipsing Taylor Streid's previous 200 free school mark of 1:50.58.
Wyatt Johnson,
Preston Waldusky,
Nick Soltys and
Joe Feder placed seventh in the men's 800 free relay, covering the route in 6:50.42. The women's 200 medley relay quartet of
Meggie McPherson, McKeon,
Bri Hodgkins and
Emily Smith finished 10th in 1:45.77.
The A-10 Championships continues Thursday.
