GENEVA, Ohio –
Emily Leonard finished fourth in the 500 freestyle Thursday to lead Saint Louis on day two of the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
Leonard moved up four spots from her finish in the prelims and registered a 4:53.27 in the final, which topped her prelims clocking by 2.65 seconds.
Janssen Gamilla placed 14th in the 50 free, covering the route in 20.82. Gamilla also swam the leadoff leg for the 200 free relay team that finished fifth in 1:21.40. He was joined by
Ethan Highley,
Nick Soltys and
Wyatt Johnson.
Natalie Daniel broke the 50 free split school record in the women's 200 free relay, swimming the anchor leg in 22.89 to surpass the previous mark of 23.01 co-owned by Elaine Mahon and
Mary First. It was Daniel's second school record in the meet. The Billiken quartet, which also included
Emily Smith,
Carly McKeon and
Pola Luckiewicz, placed ninth in 1:34.90.
The A-10 Championships continue Friday.
