CHARLESTON, Ill. – Competing in its final meet before the Atlantic 10 Championships, the Saint Louis indoor track and field team had numerous first-place finishers in the Friday Night Special at Lantz Fieldhouse, held today at Eastern Illinois.
On the women's side,
Angelina White was the winner in the weight throw, posting a distance of 15.79 meters.
Emily Nichols placed first in the 400 meters with a time of 57.18.
The women's 4x400-meter relay placed first as well with a time of 4:06.89. That team was composed of
Mikayla McDowell, Nichols,
Erin Murray and
Dani Doncevic.
For the men, the Billikens finished one-two in the triple jump, with
Jayden Kouadio winning with a mark of 13.89 meters, followed by
Evan Bruenderman in second with a leap of 13.75 meters.
Danny Hopkins was the individual winner in the 400 meters, crossing the finish with a time of 49.69.
Malik Stewart won the 800 meters, finishing with a time of 1:56.21.
Diego Collado turned in a first-place showing in the weight throw with a mark of 17.47 meters.
The men's 4x400-meter relay, featuring Hopkins,
Luke Schaefer,
Jack McPhillips and
Aidan Martin, placed first with a time of 3:29.58.
Up next for the Billikens is the A-10 Indoor Track and Field Championships, held Feb. 26-27 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
