Billikens Run at Stanford, Wash. U.

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis outdoor track and field competed at both the WU Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational this past weekend.

One of the highlights of the weekend was Toby Gillen breaking the school record in the 5,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California. He finished in a time of 14:07.63 to win his heat. That time bested the previous record of 14:15.98, which was held by Neal Fitzpatrick in 2016.

Emily Nichols achieved personal bests in two events at the Stanford Invitational. She ran a 25.03 in the 200 meters, and posted a PR of 56.61 in the 400 meters to place eighth overall.

The Billikens return to action next weekend when they travel to Champaign, Illinois, to compete in the Illini Classic.
