GAME NOTES: Saint Louis
• Saint Louis (25-19, 11-6 A-10) is set to visit Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I., for the first time since the 2017 season. The Rams lead the all-time series 12-14. The two teams are meeting for the first time since the opening day of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship hosted by Fordham.
• With a two-game series sweep over Saint Joseph's last weekend, the Billikens find themselves in third place in the A-10 standings, a half game ahead of Rhode Island.
• The victory in game two of Sunday's doubleheader clinched the twelfth 25-win season in head coach Darin Hendrickson's 15-year career at SLU. It marked the first time the Billikens achieved that mark since 2019.
• Friday's starting pitcher Logan Schmitt (8-1) ranks fourth among starters in the league with a 3.30 ERA. He's posting a conference-best 2.01 ERA in A-10 contests only. Schmitt's eight wins are tied for second in the league, tied for ninth in the NCAA and are the ninth most wins in a single season by a Billiken.
• Closer Cameron Pferrer picked up his eighth save on the year last Sunday. That ties him for the league lead and moved him to fifth all-time in a single season at SLU. Pferrer's 1.73 ERA would rank seventh by a Billiken in a single season.
• Billiken center fielder Matt Turino is riding a team-best 13-game hitting streak. He's posting a .415 batting average in A-10 games only, third best in the league. Turino is tied atop the team with 15 multi-hit games, including two- and three-hit games last Sunday against the Hawks.
• Tyler Fogarty has a reached-base streak of 25 games. He's the team leader in runs (34), walks (27), home runs (9) and stolen bases (13).
• The Billikens are one-of-six teams in the league that have three or more players hitting for a .300 batting average or better. Turino (.331) ranks 15th in the A-10, followed by Kyle Fitzgerald (21st, .325) and Cam Redding (29th, .308).
