Toby Gillen earned two medals at the 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships and was named the league's Rookie of the year.

The Australia native continued his impressive freshman campaign by earning a gold medal in the 10,000 meters and the bronze in the 5,000 meters. His impressive performance at the outdoor championships comes after he was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer of the A-10 indoor championships earlier this year.

Gillen ran a 30:55.01 in the 10,000 meters on Friday night to capture the gold. The next day, on Saturday, he placed third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:26.12 to earn his second medal of the meet and the fourth in his young career.

Two Billikens earned medals on the women's side.
Emily Nichols captured the silver medal in the 400 meters after finishing with a runner-up time of 56.08. She also set the school record in the 200 meters, finishing with a time of 24.48 to place fourth in the final.

Susan D'Onofrio earned the bronze in the triple jump, posting a mark of 39-6.

Myles Gascon recorded a pair of school records during the meet. He finished in a new school-record time of 10.54 in the 100-meter prelims and broke the school record in the 200-meter prelims with a time of 21.75. He scored in both of the events, finishing in fourth and sixth place, respectively.

The men's team placed eighth overall in the meet, while the women's team finished 11th.
