Box Score TYSONS, Va. – Riley Iffrig launched a ninth-inning grand slam to lift Saint Louis past George Mason and advance to the next round of the Atlantic 10 tournament with a 5-3 victory.
 
The Patriots struck early, scoring once in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead.
 
The Billikens got on the board in the fourth after Hayden Moore led off with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Brenden Stressler, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
 
George Mason added a run in the sixth to extend its lead to 3-1.
 
Iffrig, who hit the first grand slam of his career, gave SLU a 5-3 lead in the top of the ninth.
The Patriots threatened in the bottom half of the inning, loading the bases with one out, but grounded into a double play to end the game.
 
Charlie Weber earned his fourth win of the season, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and allowing two hits. Owen Kelly started for the Billikens and recorded five strikeouts.
 
Saint Louis advances to face Rhode Island on Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. Central.
