Final Stats
St. Louis, Mo. -
Saint Louis (1-12, 1-5 NorPac) lost to Radford University (6-8, 2-2 NorPac) in this afternoon's conference match.
"I thought we came out aggressive and fired up today, but we didn't maintain that level," said head coach Maria Whitehead. "For the first time, I saw our team play without heart. We didn't seem to want the ball, and that's what lost the game for us. Michelle Sinclair played a good game, as did Julie Moeckel in goal. Michelle anticipates well and can get to a lot of free balls in the middle for us."
Sinclair had two defensive saves aiding Moeckel with her three saves on the day.
The Billkens got on the board first with a goal off a penalty corner. In the first half, Kristin Lueders nailed the pass from Alisa Hebert on one of the three corners earned by the Bills today.
Radford came right back with its own penalty corner goal by Meredith Evans from Erin Lenhardt.
The Bills had lost that domination from the first half and, after a crowd in front of Moeckel's goal twice, Radford's Evans again poked home what was to be the gamewinning goal with 16:51 left in the game.
Saint Louis and Radford will meet again at the A-B Center on Tue., Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
