Record Setting Night for Billikens' Offense

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Saint Louis Billikens' baseball squad poured on the offense in a 22-11 victory over the Redhawks of Southeast Missouri State. The Bills set new marks for runs scored in a game by Saint Louis (22)and batters hit by pitch in a game (7), while tying the standards for single game RBIs for a team (19) and individual at-bats in a game (Danny Brennan, 7).

The contest started with a bang, as SLU scored six runs in the first inning. That output was later bested in the seventh, when the Bills ran seven across the plate. Brennan led the offense with four hits, all singles. He also tacked on three runs and three RBIs in the meeting. Freshman Mike Vigliarolo hit his first collegiate home run with a three-run blast in the second. Junior Mike Levine added a long-ball of his own (first of the season, third of his career) in the fourth.

As a team, the Billikens set season highs in at bats (43), runs scored (22), hits (18), RBIs (19), doubles (5) and hit by pitch (7) while tying the season mark for home runs (2). With the win, SLU is now 8-5 on the season.

Senior Travis Parker picks up the win after going 3.0 IP and allowing two hits, no earned runs and striking out two.
