THE BASICS
•Kallen Loveless fired a 3-hitter and Mackenzie Lawson drove in two runs to lead Saint Louis to a 5-2 victory over Chattanooga Sunday on the final day of the Frost Classic.
•The Billikens, who captured a third consecutive victory, improved to 6-4 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis plated three runs in the top of the second inning. Lawson brought home the first two tallies with a single, and Alex Nickel made it 3-0 with a sacrifice fly.
•Chattanooga scored both of its runs in the bottom of the third.
•In the fifth, Mackenzie Peter scored on a wild pitch after delivering a triple.
•Hailey Weavers provided another insurance run with a sixth-inning leadoff home run, her second homer of the season.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Loveless struck out three and allowed only one earned run and one walk.
•Megan LoBianco had two hits, including a double.
•Peter added a single to her triple.
•Emma Buckles and Alyssa Tarquinio had a single apiece.
UP NEXT
•The Billikens face three intrastate rivals at the We Back Pat Tournament, hosted by UMKC Saturday and Sunday, March 4-5. SLU faces UMKC, Missouri State and Southeast Missouri State.
